After leaving the education field as a Resource teacher, I doubted that I would find anything that I would love as much as teaching. Then OCI and I found each other. I love everything about Human Resources, especially working with such a great group of fun, positive, and incredibly intelligent people. I am by nature a problem solver and I have loved being able to solve problems and challenge myself to learn the intricacies of hiring and benefits. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband, two daughters, and son-in-law, and with my friends. I love traveling, learning about, and tasting wine. I am a huge movie fan and I love to cook.
I love my life and I am blessed to have a great wife and sons who provide drive and ambition to my character. I wanted to become a Laker at one point in time to play with Kobe Bryant, but that didn’t work out so I love my role as a Client Communications Specialist at OCI. Everyday driving to work it feels like driving to my second home. The leaders and employees at OCI make it easy for me to love my job. I enjoy the challenge of learning the insurance industry, providing support to agents and greeting everyone with my great smile!
My Passion is golfing, even though I would not be considered good, I do love being on the course and outdoors. I am proud of the Huskers and St. Louis Cardinals. Hardest thing about the office is all of the Hawkeye fans. We, however, enjoy in this office being the best we can be and serving our clients better than any other company.
I’m a true Midwesterner, born and raised in Omaha, and have been living in Elkhorn since 1996 with my wife Nancy. Together we have 3 beautiful adult daughters who are nearly off the payroll! Prior to joining OCI, I spent 30 years in the financial services industry working for a federal credit union, where I learned the value of treating others with respect and the difference being on the right team can make. My favorite quote is by Abraham Lincoln, “Most people are about as happy as they want to be.” With that in mind, I have made a conscious decision to never have a bad day. I enjoy the energy I get from helping others and bringing a smile to their day. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing with my wife and daughters, cheering on Rockhurst Volleyball (our youngest daughter is on the team), watching movies, hosting game nights, and golfing. #TooBlessedToBeStressed

When I started at OCI in 2012, I was quiet, assisted with group sales, and kept as far away from management as possible. Now, I am quiet and landed a management position overseeing the Group Sales Department. When I’m not in the office, I like to watch baseball and football…quietly.
If my life played out the way I intended, I would be a billionaire, playboy and ingenious engineer – Tony Stark style. In real life, I am a thousandaire, in a committed relationship, and an ingenious director of commissions – fighting for the justice of our brokers.
I’m just a simple Midwest girl! As a wife to Billy, and a proud mom to Kaylee and Will, most of my time outside of work is spent with my little family. I love to spend time outdoors, travel to visit family, listen to live music, exercise in our home gym and get together with our friends, family and neighbors (while enjoying a glass of Prosecco or the like).
OCI came to me at the right time when I was trying to find my way into the professional work environment after college. Insurance has always piqued my interest, and I am enjoying getting to understand the industry through my role in contracting and commissions. OCI’s warm welcoming and family-friendly environment is my favorite aspect of the company. As a recent graduate, I am eager to dive into the world of insurance and continue to learn in an environment different from the classroom. I will get to explore the complex world of insurance through my role in contracting and commissions here at OCI. I am passionate about helping others and strongly value teamwork. Here at OCI, I can combine my drive for learning and my passion for helping others in a warm, welcoming environment that I look forward to going to every day. When I am not at work, I like to stay active by going for walks and soaking in the sunshine.
You might say I’m a coffee snob, you might not. But, then you would be one too. What’s wrong with wanting a good cup of coffee in your hand? It helps me maintain/write code and answer any helpdesk question here at OCI – what, it does?!
My wife, Cassandra, and I welcomed our firstborn Jedediah in January 22. I love being creative with my hands and while I do I’m listening to podcasts and audiobooks. I love Star Wars Legends and Brandon Sanderson. I build Halo props and armor and am designing a board game.
Problem-solving has been my favorite part of life! Being able to take a situation and find or search for the best solution to make the end result something amazing!

When I’m not revising, retouching or retweeting I’m probably enjoying a cup (or three) of espresso, spending time with family or planning the next time I can return to a locale with a beach.
