The following is from an official HealthSpring communication on Monday, October 5.
Starting with HealthSpring applications effective Jan. 1, 2027, a select list of plans will become non-commissionable, partially commissionable, or suppressed.
- Non-commissionable: HealthSpring will no longer pay commissions on some plans, and they will be removed from all broker enrollment platforms.
- Partial commission: HealthSpring will pay 75% of the standard fair market value (FMV) commission rate on ten plans.
- Suppressed: HealthSpring will remove some plans from all broker enrollment platforms.
Important: There are no changes to our current compensation schedules for applications with a 2026 effective date. HealthSpring will continue to pay renewal commissions on all plans based on the compensation schedule in place at the time of sale.
Compensation Schedule
The 2027 MA and PDP Compensation Schedule is available in Medicare Producers’ University. This schedule includes the commissions HealthSpring is paying for its 2027 products and the dates that the payments will be distributed. The commission calendar can be found at the end of the document. To view this document, follow the steps below:
- Log in to HFB.
- Click on Medicare Producers’ University from the Tools menu.
- Once there, visit the Resource Center and search for “Compensation Schedules 2027” on the left side of the page.
