Beginning October 1, 2026, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) will pay commissions for contracts effective January 1, 2027, based on the following structure:
New Contracts:
- Medicare Advantage: $0/contract
- Part D prescription drug plans: $0/contract
- Medicare Supplement: Pending KDOI review and approval. Medicare Supplement insurance plans have been identified as a primary growth product for BCBSKS. The 2027 commission structure will reflect this priority.
Renewed Contracts:
- $0 on all new Medicare Advantage and Part D contracts effective Jan.1, 2027.
- Contracts effective before Dec. 31, 2026, will remain on the current fee schedule.
- Medicare Supplement: Renewals will continue to be paid based on the 2026 fee schedule for all plans effective before Dec. 31, 2026.
Please watch for the 2027 fee schedule for more details.
What this means for you:
New PDP and MA sales with a 2027 effective date will not pay commissions. Any existing business, or new business with a 2026 effective date, would still receive initial and renewal commissions.
Once you’ve completed your annual training, your appointment and ability to sell our Medicare products will continue as usual. The updated schedule takes effect Oct. 1, 2026.
